Ladies & Gentlemen. Welcome to The Envelope Podcast. Here on The Envelope, we discuss & review every Best Picture Winner in the Academy Awards History.
On this episode, we discuss the fiftieth Best Picture Winner: “ANNIE HALL.”
“Annie Hall” follows comedian Alvy Singer as he examines the rise and fall of his relationship with struggling nightclub singer Annie Hall. Speaking directly to the audience in front of a bare background, Singer reflects briefly on his childhood and his early adult years before settling in to tell the story of how he and Annie met, fell in love, and struggled with the obstacles of modern romance, mixing surreal fantasy sequences with small moments of emotional drama. Directed by Woody Allen the film stars Woody Allen as Alvy Singer, Diane Keaton as Annie Hall, Tony Roberts as Rob, Carol Kane as Allison, Paul Simon as Tony Lacey, Shelley Duvall as Pam, and Christopher Walken as Duane Hall.
